Fall Must Haves Part 1 . . .

Here we go . . . this is Part 1 of a 5 part series of my Top 5 Fall Must Haves.
The Bow Blouse has easily become one of my most sought after pieces for Fall. I love the femininity, softness and charm it instantly adds to any outfit. I also love that it's such a great transitional piece, you can pair it with a sleek pencil skirt for work and then switch it up by pairing it with skinny/wide leg jeans and pumps for a night look. I recently purchased 2 bow blouses that I'm itching to wear once the weather cools down. I'm definitely planning to expand my bow blouse collection and pictured below are some of the contenders I've been eyeing and lusting over . . .

Banana Republic + Mad Men = Mad Genius

The day that Mad Men became available on NetFlix was a big day in my books. Not only is Jon Hamm dreamy, the entire ensemble is AMAZING. The authenticity and visual style that Janie Bryant incorporates (Mad Men's costume designer) is out of this world.  I dream of raiding the wardrobe department and playing dress up in all of Betty Draper's beautiful full skirted dresses.  So as you can imagine I was beyond thrilled when I heard that Banana Republic and Janie Bryant were collaborating to create a Mad Men Inspired Collection.

The women’s collection features trench coats, high-waisted skirts, 60s-style dresses and leopard print pumps, while the men’s collection includes everything from suits and pocket squares to money clips and knitted sweaters. I'm so lucky that my guy is such a sharp dresser, he wants to channel Don Draper and I think I'm a mix between Betty Draper and Joan Holloway. Can't wait to snag some pieces from this collection. If you haven't jumped on the Mad Men bandwagon yet I suggest you do so A.S.A.P. and start from the beggining because believe me, you will be hooked! Stay tuned for a future post on the Mad Men pieces I opted for from Banana Republic, definitely have my eye on more than a handful. Until then get ready for some major Mad Men overload . . .

Sunny Disposition . . .

When it comes to my wardrobe and fashion in general I find myself being inspired by all things vintage . . . specifically the 1960's. There truly has never been a time that eluded such classic and impecable taste as the 60's era. Nothing was fussy or over the top, everything was timeless. My heart skips a beat just thinking about it . I think of my personal style as being femininine and classic however when it comes to certain accesories i.e sunglasses and watches, I love bold and masculine pieces. While looking at my small yet cherished collection of sunglasses recently I realized that the few that I do own are uni-sex pieces-translation-they're a little bit more bold and masculine than my classic feminine style and to be quite honest I love that. I love the way bold acessories can completely transform an entire look. So ladies, what's your take on bold masculine accesories? Do you incorporate any into your own wardrobe? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this one. On a side note I decided to invest in a bold pair of prescription glasses in attempts to give my eyes some much needed rest from contact lenses every now and then. My prescription frames are by D&G and I luuuuv them, they have that geek chic look I was searching for.

Perfection . . .

Only Mila Kunis can manage to first pull off a sweet Oscar De La Renta navy and ivory polka det dress paired with killer Brian Atwood nude pumps immediately followed by a sexy and sultry navy blue mini dress with once again, a pair of killer nude pumps.  I love the light blue clutch she wore with both outfits. She is the epitome of effortless beauty!

Anthro Picks . . .

I just received my Fall 2011 Anthropologie catalog in the mail and as always I made an evening out of it. With my iced americano beside me I browsed and indulged in every single page and by the time I was finished every other page was dog eared marking my favorites.  I don't even know why I bother doing that because I seriously love EVERY single outfit! I guess if I absolutely HAD to narrow it down to just a few favorites these would be it . . . Oh and on the top of my list as my Fall Must have-Polka dot tights. . .  love love love them! They're the perfect accesory to spruce up a simple black or grey shift dress.
